Description
A c.1950s Sampo-branded archtop guitar in brown sunburst finish.Owned and played by Randy Bachman, who has sold 40 million records worldwide as a member of The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and as a solo artist. Part of his massive collection of German archtop guitars, collected over 30-plus years.
A bound 20 fret rosewood fretboard with thin block inlays. A white headstock face with black, partially broken Sampo logo. Maple neck, spruce sunburst-finished top, figured maple back and sides. Multi-ply binding throughout, bound lightning bolt sound holes, adjustable ebony bridge, chrome harp tailpiece. An intricate decal of some sort was affixed to the top, now gone.
