Description
A gorgeous Chinese bronze figural belt hook, Warring States to Han Dynasty, c. 3rd - 2nd Century BC, in the form of a male figure, perhaps a sacrificed servant, seen from the back, right hand raised, left at his side, his severed head laying at his rump and his legs extending to the hook at bottom. Beautifully patinated and a most interesting piece with excellent style and detail. L: 4 7/8 in (12.4 cm). Ex Southern California estate, acquired mid-20th Century.
