Description
Finely decorated with an under-glaze painted Impressionist landscape in the French Barbotine manner. Signed in the image, lower right with the decorators monogram, HR. Not signed by the pottery company, however other signed Wheatley pieces by this decorator are known. Attributed on the basis of the clay color and texture and the decorators signature.

Two works on Wheatley pieces by this unidentified artist - monogramist "HR" are included in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
