Description
A Federal Cherry Inlaid Mahogany Tea Caddy, Circa 1800. The hinged lid with oval paterae and quarter fans, enclosing a mitered box with interior lid, stringing and quarter fans to three sides. With note to interior inscribed, "This tea chest was made by my grandmother's grandfather, Aaron Miller, as an engagement present to his future wife, Rhoda Tucker. It was a labor of love, for he was no mechanic. He died about 1850."
