An American Brass Inlaid Rosewood Lap Desk, Mid-Late 19th Century. The hinged lid enclosing a burgundy velvet writing panel, filled with an assortment of 19th century lady's writing articles. Appearing to belonging to Alexis I. du Pont. Jr. Together with a burl walnut table box.
Dimensions: Height of lap desk 4 3/4in; width 12in; depth 9in; Height of table box 5in; width 11in; depth 7 1/2in.
Provenance: Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey.
Condition
General marks, wear, abrasions, surface scratches, scattered repairs and losses to each box throughout. No keys.
