An antique French mantle clock, made of gilded bronze (Ormolu - or dore bronze). decorated with the image of Urania (one of the nine muses in Greek mythology, the daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, the goddess of memory, and companions of Apollo, the god of beauty and the arts). Urania was the muse of astronomy and astrology. She is usually depicted holding or leaning on a globe, from the Restoration period in France (Charles 10th) or from the beginning of the reign of Louis Philippe,
