Description
An Emerson and Co. signed tri-legged bronze posnet. Emerson and Co. were brass founders in the late 18th/early 19th C. in Bristol England. This skillet has the number three after the name on the handle, indicating capacity. Posnets were meant to be used in hearth cooking, they were pushed into the ashes of the fire, hence the wearing away of the legs. 5.5”H x 15.5”L x 6.25” dia. . Provenance: Cain Collection.

Small stress fracture at handles connection to pot, minor dents on front rim.
