Toy, Advertising and Country Store Auction
A small, fun sale of Antique toys, advertising material, and country store items including an assortment of salt glaze crocks and yellow ware with a few interesting additions.
Tin and mechanical toys are headlined by a Leopold Lambert Ballerina Automaton with Jumeau head, a fine boxed Expert Motorcyclist from Masudaya, a small but fine group of Japanese Space toys including an Interplanetary Explorer and scarce versions of Robot Bulldozers. There are several lots of Steiff & Schuco animals with a scarce Circa 1905 burlap Elephant from Steiff or Strunz rounding out this section. Other toys include tin vehicles, pressed steel and some comic character pieces including a selection of Lunchboxes. Rounding out the toys is a small but fine collection of cap guns and holsters: Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Wyatt Earp, Gunsmoke and more.
Advertising has some good porcelain signs with a rare Little Tavern sign from the late 30's, a double-sided Shell gas, Atlantic gas and more tin and paper signs.
In the country store part of the sale there is a fine tower showcase in nickeled trim, a rare Dayton model 56 candy scale, early country store cash box with display, thread cabinets, assorted crocks and primitives and a Mutoscope with Felix the Cat reel from the Biograph Theater in Georgetown, Washington, DC.
