Our sale consists of Fine Egyptian, Classical Antiquities. Ancient Coins. And Islamic Art. Featuring a collection of mixed antiquities from the late Robert Haber Ancient Art NYC. Robert Haber's interest in archeology and antiquities came about while studying in Jerusalem. While working on an excavation, he discovered the practical world of archaeological conservation, and was immediately enthralled with the field. In pursuit of a career in the conservation of antiquities, Mr. Haber was awarded an apprenticeship at the Israel Museum and was later hired by the restoration department. He went on to study at the University College London as a Kress Fellow under Prof. Henry Hodges and received a Diploma in the Conservation of Ancient Materials. A collection of Mesopotamian seals and Rare Roman Glass flasks from the late Dina Recanati 1928-2021 of New York City.Diane Hettena born, 1928, Cairo, Egypt. Graduated from French and English schools 1945. Married Raphael Recanati, 1946, in Tel Aviv, Israel.Went to London to study History and Art 1946-1948. Moved to New York 1948. Attended Art Student League 1959-1962. Studied with Jose de Creft and John Hovannes. She has gone on to exhibit worldwide with permanent works in the Israel Museum, Tel Aviv Museum, Ben Gurion Airport, The Jewish Museum (New York) among others.She is the recipient of the AICF AVIV Award and The Council for a Beautiful Israel Yakir Award.
