Antique Meissen porcelain figural grouping: "The Capture of Triton", after the design by Johann Joachim Kaendler, Carl Christoph Punct and Johann Carl Beauty, circa 1769. Marked on base with underglaze blue crossed swords and incised marks "C. 3.5. 187". Measures 11.75" tall x 9.5" wide. Condition: scattered early professional restorations- discoloration of paint used in restorations, scattered losses to ferns throughout, loss to shell at front right, each maiden has a lost thumb, losses to upper maiden's skirt, loss to one of the frog's legs, see images. Weight: 3.7 lbs.
