Description
This is a beautiful etching by American artist Joseph Pennell (1857-1926). A Philadelphia native, Pennell moved to London and taught at the Slade School of Art. He is best known for his etchings of landmarks. Titled The Pavement, St. Paul's, this print depicts the courtyard and entrance to the famed cathedral in London, England. It is signed below the plate mark. - The page is 13 7/8 x 11". The plate mark is 8 1/2".
Condition
In overall very good condition with toning as pictured. There are some pin dot holes scattered above the plate mark and just into the plate near the top. This condition is consistent with age.
