Description
PROVENANCE: Nikolai Lukseski (1943-2018) of Naples, FL. Veteran, Business Entrepreneurs, Private Collectors.The son of an immigrant Russian (Ukraine), he served in the Republic of Vietnam TET 1968 Offensive and Counter Offensive, earning two battle stars. John was a Master Sergeant at the age of 24 due to his leadership ability, intelligence, common sense, experience, and the ability to accept great responsibilities. He started his business career as an overseas marketing consultant for fortune 500 companies while developing marketing strategies, he became aware of the value in historical Asian porcelains. It was not the monetary portion but the historical value that they held. The larger his collection grew the more love he had for each item. He retired after 42 years to be at his wife's side.He was a Member of Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), American Veterans (AMVETS), and Military Officers Association of America (MOOA.) The old soldier just faded away but will never be forgotten.

The vase is made out of cloisonne enamell with a globular body and acylindrical neck. The rim is carved with hui wen motif and the neck is decorated with ruyi motif on top, bats and Chinese Shou character beneath and Chinese ancient musical instrument Qing below. In center of which is a lotus symbolizing good fortune and health. Around the shoulder are painted with floral pedals. On either side of the neck are two dragon shaped handles made out of gilt-bronze. On the globular body are decorations of pines,clouds, pavilions and a scene of children playing in the yard. Pines stand for longevity and children symbolize the wish for more descendants. The foot is flared and is decorated with more interlock branches motifs. On the bottom is carved with Qian Long mark in a frame. The vase is in a good condition and is considered to be used by people of high ranks in ancient history.
