Description
Circa 1910s-1920s Native American (Pueblo) watercolor / tempera and ink on paper, depicting the Eagle Dance. The unusual composition places two dancers mirroring one another face to face in their boldly graphic dance regalia. Signed lower right in ink: Jose Reano. Below this in pencil: "(Eagle Dance)". Due to their fragility, authentic early 20th century Pueblo paintings are considered rare. Housed in its original early 20th century frame, with label for Charles E. Boldt, Albuquerque, New Mex., on verso. Frame, approx. 10 1/2" x 16 1/4".
