Description
A group of eight Chinese watercolor and ink fan paintings on paper. The group includes: a painting of a bird in a landscape with an inscription and one seal; a painting of plum blossoms with an inscription and two seals; a painting of tea leaves and a teapot with an inscription and three seals; a painting of a cricket on a lotus with an inscription and one seal; a painting of a snail on a leaf with berries with an inscription and two seals; a painting of lilies with an inscription and one seal that has been mounted on a silk backing; a painting of crickets on flowers with an inscription and one seal that has been mounted on a silk backing; and finally, a painting of plum blossoms with an inscription and one seal that has been matted.
Dimensions are: the largest painting of the snail measures 10 inches tall X 21 1/2 inches wide, 25.4 cm X 54.6 cm. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: The painting of the bird has a small corner of loss. The painting of the plum blossoms with two seals has spotting. The painting of the teapot has staining. The painting of the cricket on a lotus has water damage. The painting of the plum blossoms with one seal has loss to one corner, staining, and one crease. All remaining paintings are in overall good condition.
Provenance: From Mrs. Lim in Boston, Massachusetts. The piece was acquired by her father and uncle in the United States.
