This cotton 1870's/1880's red, green and white oak reel quilt is hand appliqued and hand quilted, with a vine border, the green part of which is treadle machine appliqued. It measures 80" X 80" and is in excellent condition, with a couple of small, faint spots and no wear. The quilt feels strong and sturdy overall. The hand quilting is exceptional -- the best you'll find on any quilt -- with close straight line and double orange peel designs quilted throughout at an even 12-14 stitches to the inch. The back is white, the hand stitched binding is green, and the batting is thin.
