Italian Carved Marble Bust of a Domitian
On an associated marble base.
40 1/2 x 27 1/2 x 12 in. overall.
Note: Domitian was Caesar from 81 to 96 AD, he was the son of Vespasian (Caesar from 9 to 23/24 AD), and the brother of Titus. He was the last emperor of the Flavian dynasty.

The bust does not sit flush to the base at the back. Nicks, old repairs and losses throughout. With a 3 1/2 x 2 in. loss at the back of the neck, plaster residue repairs around the neck. Nicks to the nose, ears and mantle. Chips to the associated base. Wear is consistent with age and use. Nicely carved.
