[HAWKINS' ZOUAVES]. A group of prints and newspapers featuring illustrations and coverage of the 9th New York Infantry Regiment in the battlefield, comprising:
Antietam, September 17, 1862. Desperate charge on the Rebel Batteries by the 9th N.Y. Vols., Hawkins Zouaves. N.p., n.d. 9 1/2 x 6 in. albumen photograph mounted to cardstock (toned). A photograph of a painting by L. Kieffer, itself after a sketch by Ed. Forbes, "taken on the spot." -- Battle of Antietam - Burnside's Division, Left Wing - Brilliant and Decisive Bayonet Charge of Hawkins's Zouaves, Colonel Kimball, on the Confederate Battery on the Hill, Right Bank of Antietam Creek, NEar Sharpsburg, on the Afternoon of September 17th, 1862 - Utter Rout of the Confederates.
