NOTABLE FIGURES CABINET CARDS - OCHILTREE & COGSWELL
Two cabinet cards depicting portraits of notable figures, to include:Â
- Thomas P. Ochiltree, Texas ranger, Confederate major, 1890's politician. Served in 1st Texas Inf. Reg. during Civil War and rose to rank of Major. U.S. Marshal in 1874, died in 1902. This cabinet card is # 372 from the N-566 series that was issued circa 1890's by the National Tobacco Works for the Newsboy Tobacco cabinet card series, 4 1/4 x 6 3/8"
- Henry D. Cogswell, one of the first 49ers and one of San Francisco's first millionaires. Give away photo by his company at time of his death in 1900. Photo by Vaughan Gallery in San Francisco, rubber stamped "H.D. COGSWELL S.F. co." on reverse, 4 1/4 x 6 1/2"
