"Alvarado's oeuvre focuses on still lifes that depict the limitless abundance of the Mexican natural world. The artist was born in Mexico City and began his studies at La Escuela Nacional de Pintura y Escultura and continued to study at La Academia de San Carlos from 1976-1977. In 1978, he studied at Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in France. Alvarado apprenticed with three renowned artists whom he credits were equally influential in his development as an artist. Henri Cartier-Bresson taught him to draw, Ricardo Martinez contributed to Alvarado's love of painting with oil, and Armando Morales encouraged Alvarado to grow stylistically. Alvarado's artworks have been included in numerous exhibitions throughout Mexico and the United States. He has been featured at the Museo de Arte Moderno, Mexico City, Mexico; Museo Amparo, Puebla, Mexico; and had a solo exhibit in 2013 at the Museo de San Ildefonso, Mexico City.
