Charles Emile Hippolyte Lecomte-Vernet was one of the leading French ballet painters of the 19th century. He was also well regarded for his historical paintings, which were focused on accuracy rather than imagination.
Jean Pierre Marie Jazet was a French engraver and aquatint artist. He was the nephew of painter and engraver Philibert-Louis Debucourt, who trained him in the art of printmaking following the death of his father.
