Description
A patinated mahogany grand library cabinet in breakfront form surmounted by a moulded cornice. The upper portion comprised of eight doors, each with three graduated bolection moulded panels. The doors open to reveal the original shelves and drawers, the right hand side with pigeon holes. The lower portion protrudes in the centre, flanked by drawers on either side. Each drawer with original polished brass handles. English, c.1850.
The reverse bears the stamp for retail dealer J.M. Greer & Co. General Agents, Jackson Street Opp. R.R. Depot, Knoxville, Tennessee.
