McNeill Whistler was an American artist chiefly based in the United Kingdom, active during the American Gilded Age. Chiefly known for his painting, "Whistler's Mother", Whistler was also an important etcher. This print, "The Wine-Glass", may also be seen in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, amongst other museums.
