A fine CDV portrait of Captain Amos A. Clark, who served with the 111th Illinois Infantry. Captain Clark, who lived in Salem, Illinois, enlisted in 1862 and served with distinction until his accidental death in the spring of 1864 in Decatur, Alabama. An ink inscription below the photo identifies the sitter as Capt. Clark. Clark and his men spent most of their time together fighting guerrillas in Kentucky and Alabama.
