2nd-4th century AD. A mixed group of pottery comprising: a small amphora with piriform body, everted neck and foot (in two parts); a miniature dish with carinated body, stepped neck and plinth foot; a pot base and foot with waisted stem and hollow interior, worn smooth; accompanied by a handwritten label reading 'ROMAN POTTERY FROM THAMES'. 220 grams total, 52-98mm (2 - 4"). Family collection acquired since the 1970s. Property of an Essex collector; from his father's estate. [4, No Reserve]
