Description
This grouping relates to Lt. Colonel David K. Love of the Georgia Militia and consists of six items total: a pair of tintypes, an 1864 dated State of Georgia appointment/commission document, an obituary, and a description of the items included by the family. The appointment document is signed by Adjutant General and Inspector of Georgia Militia, Henry C. Wayne, and details Love’s promotion to Lieutenant Colonel beginning on April 16th, 1864. The early image of Love was likely taken while he was serving with the state militia as a young man and is housed in a wall-frame. The tintype is of Love’s daughter Elizabeth, and the 1955-dated obituary details the family lineage.
