Janet Leach (American, 1918 - 1997), ceramic studio art pottery jug, marked with her mark and the mark of St. Ives / Leach Pottery Studio. Janet Leach with an American ceramicist, who was mentored by Shoji Hamada and was the first woman to study pottery in Japan. Later, she married Bernard Leach, the famous British potter. 8.25" H x 4.5" diameter. Provenance: Property from an Upper East Side townhouse.
