Scheuchzer (Johann Jacob) Physique Sacree, ou Histoire Naturelle de la Bible, 8 vol., first edition in French, half-titles to all but vol.3 and 6, titles in red and black with engraved vignette, engraved frontispiece (to vol.3), 2 portraits (one mezzotint), engraved head-piece at beginning of each volume, 756 plates (?of 758), a couple double-page and a couple folding, one partially hand-coloured, a few text leaves lightly browned, but generally a clean, crisp copy, contemporary russia, gilt, occasionally slightly rubbed or scuffed, vol.1 and 2 with lower cover slightly stained, traces of worming to spines and small patch on lower cover of vol.2, a couple of spine ends slightly chipped, folio, Amsterdam, Pierre Schenk & Pierre Mortier, 1732-37.
