Description
This is a pair of marble composition sculptures after the original Italianate Triton sculptural fountain in Congress Park, Saratoga Springs, NY. Affectionately nicknamed "Spit and Spat", the original sculptures were commissioned in 1902 by Richard A. Canfield of Canfield Casino. The playful fountain features two tritons facing one another blowing water through conch shells. The sculptures presented here were made for retail at the Saratoga Springs History Museum.
