Description
A Continental Baroque style scagliola inset walnut center table, 19th century with reconfiguration, the top probably earlier, the scagliola top centered by a depiction of "Joan of Arc" amongst dense foliates, and with hunters mounted on horseback to either side, fitted with two drawers to the frieze below

Condition
Structurally sound. The scagliola panel inset into a walnut molded framework that is likely the top from another table, now married and fastened to the current walnut table base. The scagliola top with wear, cracks, losses, old repair sand filling-in throughout. Wear and losses heaviest around edges. The table base with likely reconfiguration, later added reinforcements and moldings. The surface is dry overall with sun fading and movement to veneers, shrinkage and vertical age cracks. Evidence of old wood worm and filling-in.
