First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Feeding a Baby Elephant on Trip to India Type 1 Photograph, PSA Encapsulated
Original Type 1 Photograph measuring 8" x 10", PSA encapsulated to the overall size of 9.75" x 13", March 14, 1962, New Delhi, India. A fantastic image of First Lady Jackie Kennedy holding out her hand to feed an elephant in the garden of India's Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, at his residence, Teen Murti Bhavan. This scene was part of the First Lady's tour of India and Pakistan between March 12-26, which she took with her sister, Lee Radziwell.
Captured by JFK's presidential photographer, Cecil Stoughton, and was taken as a set, several of which appear in the archives on the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum website as part of the series titled First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy's (JBK) Trip to India and Pakistan. See accession number ST-C117-25-62 for reference.
