"A Picture History For Boys And Girls", by Richard Wilson, illustrated by George Morrow, published by Thomas Nelson & Sons, London. Undated, the last story is the visit of King George V to India in 1911. The original dust jacket with the imprinted price [5/- net] on the front flap is present.
Original dust jacket [a little soiling and edge wear]; hard boards, red cloth with gold lettering on spine; 7.1/7" x 5.1/2"; illustrated endpapers [inked name "Robert S. Bannerman" inside both, front and back covers]; 100 pages: 48 color pictures by George Morrow, opposite each picture is a page of text about the particular historical event [e.g. Normans beat English, the princes in the tower etc.]; very good condition.
George Morrow [1869-1955], illustrator, born in Belfast, brother of the artists Albert and Edwin Morrow. After studying art in Paris, George exhibited a little in London, at RA and RBA. But he was principally known as a magazine and book illustrator.
