Due pagine a stampa con parti manoscritte. Testatina figurata e ornata. Timbro ovale araldico “Cabinet d’Hozier”. Nota manoscritta coeva sul margine superiore, nome manoscritto del gentiluomo ammesso al Collegio, in fine data e firma “Duc Mazarin”.“Nous avons commis M. d’Hozier Généalogiste de la Maison du Roi, Juge d’Armes, & Garde de l’Armorial de France, pour nous certifier la validité de Noblesse des 4 degrés de génération paternelle de Jean Gérard Muyard, gentilhomme de la Franche Comté pour être reçu au nombre des Gentilshommes qui sont élevés dans le Collège Mazarin. Fait à Paris le 10 May 1721.” In testa al documento i nomi e i titoli del Duca, 1666-1731, figlio di Armand Charles de La Porte, duc de Mazarin e Ortensia Mancini, padre della celebre Marquise de Nesle, che divenne la favorita di Luigi XV. Il Duca era l’unico ad avere il potere di conoscere e giudicare intorno alla condizione dei giovani che potevano essere ammessi al Collegio in quanto Nobili da almeno quattro generazioni. Il Collegio Mazarin, chiamato ‘Collège des Quatre-Nations’, fondato dal Cardinale, era dei collegi della storica Università di Parigi. Molti gli studenti divenuti celebri, fra i quali: Jean le Rond d'Alembert, Jacques-Louis David, Antoine-Laurent Lavoisier, Adrien-Marie Legendre.La ricerca genealogica commissionata dal Duca Mazarino fu compiuta da Louis Pierre d'Hozier, che fu ‘Juge d’Armes’ dal 1710 al 1767. Il Cabinet des Titres e l’Armorial général de France, detto Armorial d’Hozier, sono formati da dagli archivi dei giudici d’armi del re, incaricati della verifica dei titoli e delle prove di nobiltà. Cinque menbri della famiglia d’Hozier sono stati titolari di questa carica dal 1641 fino alla Rivoluzione.

One sheet in 4to. 240x190 mm. Two printed pages with handwritten parts. Figured and decorated headboard. Oval heraldic stamp "Cabinet d’Hozier". Contemporay handwritten note in the upper margin, handwritten name of the gentleman admitted to the College, at the end the date and signature "Duc Mazarin".
At the head of the document the names and titles of the Duke, 1666-1731, son of Armand Charles de La Porte, duc de Mazarin and Ortensia Mancini, father of the famous Marquise de Nesle, who became the favorite of Louis XV. The Duke was the only one who had the power to know and judge the condition of young people who could be admitted to the College as nobles for at least four generations.The Mazarin College, called 'Collège des Quatre-Nations', founded by the Cardinal, was one of the colleges of the historic University of Paris. Many students have become famous, including: Jean le Rond d'Alembert, Jacques-Louis David, Antoine-Laurent Lavoisier, Adrien-Marie Legendre.The genealogical research commissioned by the Duke Mazarin was carried out by Louis Pierre d'Hozier, who was 'Juge d'Armes' from 1710 to 1767. The Cabinet des Titres and the Armorial général de France, called Armorial d'Hozier, are made up of from the archives of the king's judges-at-arms, in charge of verifying the titles and proofs of nobility. Five members of the Hozier family held this office from 1641 until the Revolution.
