Two vintage bonus booklets included in this lot are 1. Castle Hill Home of Explorer and Patriot Dr. Thomas Walker near Charlottesville, VA.
2. Brandon a Famous River Plantation originally a land grant to John Martin, companion of Captain John Smith on his first voyage to America, Prince George County, VA.
Hard boards, original publisher's cloth with black decorations and gilt lettering on spine; 7" x 10.1/8"; former owner's [Landingham] label on the front endpaper, 262 pages including monochrome photographs on glossy paper, some foxing, very good condition.
Wallace Nutting (1861-1941) was an American minister, photographer, artist, and antiquarian, who is most famous for his landscape photos. He also was an accomplished author, lecturer, furniture maker, antiques expert, and collector. His atmospheric photographs helped spur the Colonial Revival style. Nutting authored several books about the scenic beauties of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.
