This vibrant whimsical 1884 is hand pieced and hand stitched. Made from a wide variety of figural and flower prints. A large campaign patch with Grover Cleveland For President/Thos. A. Hendricks For Vice President from 1884. Wonderful figural prints of lovers, children verse, saying, "Santa Claus gave all these toys because we were good girls and boys. A beautul large Santa Claus figure with is bag of wondrous toys.
The quilt has no inner batting and has a patchwork of prints as a backing. As seen in last photo.

CONDITION
The condition is good, with two small areas of shredding and tears as shown in photos, with no repairs, as found condition. Found few small stains, on back and front material. Material has surface oxidation discoloration from decades of storage. Large Santa Claus has started to shred.
I have not laundered this quilt, and is in as found condition. This quilt would make a great visual wall hanging.
The maker put a lot of thought into the selections of materials to give the quilt a great visual look.
A lovely quilt project that you can finish or with your imagination make into something else.
