this print is based on the masterpiece painting by Gu Kaizhi (346-407) entitled Luoshen Appraisal Painting in the collection of the Palace Museum in Beijing, this is a print of one section of the painting that depicts the meeting between Cao and the Goddess Luoshen at Luoshui River, the picture vividly captures the joyous mood of their first encounter, and the sadness that ensued following their separation, backed with silk brocade border, framed with hanger at top, not examined outside of the frame.
