ORPHEUM VAUDEVILLE INTERNATIONAL POSTER. Winnipeg: Free Press Job Dept., Show Printers, n.d. (early 20th century).110 x 35.7 cm. Colour-printed poster in black and red text. Showing the Monday Matinee of Oct. 23, with acts including John & Emma Ray's latest comedy 'The Bandmaster, French ventriloquist Les Fraed-Nad, Kenny, Nobody & Platt (character songs and comical sayings), and more. Generally very good condition: slight toning; marginal tear at right edge. Shrinkwrapped. First edition of Moore's account of the life of the Irish rebel, Edward Fitzgerald, with numerous selections from his personal correspondence. Prior to his involvement with the United Irishmen, Fitzgerald had a distinguished military career which included postings in America, the West Indies, and Canada. Included here are letters relating his experiences in the American Revolutionary War (I pp. 16-28), his posting in New Brunswick (I pp. 75-120), and his journeys from Fredericton to Quebec and down the Mississippi in New Orleans (I pp. 120-159).
