Joan Brams (French - American, 1928- ) Painting. Title - Pompal Square. Mixed media on wood modern abstract sculptural painting. Signed Brams lower right. On reverse, signed Joan Brams and titled Pompal Square and numbered #190 A151. Measures 48 inches high, 48 inches wide. In good condition.
From Newscyclecloud.com: There weren't many mediums artist Joan Brams didn't try. She created paintings, sculptures, ceramics, mixed media works and jewelry during the course of her long career. Now 88, she has donated about 30 pieces to the Mandel Jewish Community Center in Palm Beach Gardens, where the works are on view through Feb. 10. The show includes paintings inspired by the antiquities of Greece and India as well as pieces created from cement and plaster her first husband, a builder, kept around the house. Brams lived in Palm Beach for most of her life until about three years ago, when she moved to Palm Beach Gardens. She gave her art to the center because I wanted to do something beneficial, she said. They do a lot of good work there. Brams took up art when she was 25 when she enrolled in a painting class at the Norton Museum of Art. She's shown her work at galleries in Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Miami, New York and Dallas as well as banks and other institutions. Her art was purchased for the Palm Beach International Airport.
