Chicanx artist, Luis Jimenez, is best known for his large-scale sculpture created in fiberglass and steel. These works vary in subject matter, melding contemporary southwestern life with Aztec history and legends.
His work is found in the collections of the Albuquerque Museum, Albuquerque, NM; the Smithsonian American art Museum, Washington DC; El Paso Museum of Art, El paso, TX; the Metropolitan Museum of art, NY; the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL; the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX; and the Denver International Airport, Denver, CO. In 1994 Jimenez was given a major exhibition, "Man of Fire," at the Albuquerque Museum, Albuquerque, NM.
