Gene Matras of Manchester, New Hampshire is an outstanding young artist whose talent
is completely natural and self-taught.
Like the early colonists, the Matras family emigrated to America from Europe. Born
in Poland, Gene was just a boy of nine when they arrived in Manchester, N.H.
Artistic talent runs in the family and Gene has been drawing since early childhood.
Unlike his brothers and sister who also draw well, he persisted - and for the past three
years has seriously persued an art career. He's tried all types of media and
