Description
Flask. A spectacular monogrammed cased English silver mounted horn spirit flask with a glass bottom. With a city mark of London, maker's mark of either Chawner & Co (George William Adams) or George Aldwinckle, and a date mark of 1872. Accompanied by what is most surly its original leather carrying case. From a Bronx, NY estate. Dimensions flask measures approx. 9.75" in length.
Condition
Good, with light surface scratches and minor dings/dents. Flask bears (2) and a few smaller cracks. approx. 7.75" crack. Flasks base exhbits chips, fleabites, and losses. leather case lid is void of retaining straps. Cap bears a well executed cypher monogram. Traditionally this type of flask was carried by English army officers during the Victorian era. Leather case lid bears an illegible name.
