Made by J. & E. Stevens Company. Cromwell, Connecticut - Circa 1888. A farmer foolishly eats a slice of melon while driving his cart to the market. When a small boy suddenly emerges from behind the foliage, it's too late to control the actions of the mule, who has reared upwards, toppling the cart and causing a bad accident.
