An early 19th century American striking Banjo clock. 8-day weight driven time and strike 4-pilar movement with arched top plates, painted Iron dial and Roman numerals, signed "No. 1838, A Willard Jr". Mahogany case with turned finial over a circular Mahogany dial door with convex glass, tapered throat panel shaped lower door with molded edges and Crotch Mahogany panels over a shaped lower drop. Older finish with good color, finial re-painted, dial wear and touch-ups, running when cataloged. 39" high overall. ESTIMATE $2,000-3,000
