Description
SAA black powder frame gun manufactured in 1884 and shipped to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co., Chicago, IL. Confirmed by a Colt factory letter. One line company address on the barrel. Patent dates remain on the left side of the frame. Matching serials on the frame, trigger guard and butt. Frame has bolt for shoulder stock attachment. 11-7/8" barrel (not confirmed in factory letter) with blade front sight and added u-notch rear. Polished finish, with period scroll engraving and a punch dot background. Nearly 100% coverage. Oiled wood grip has been sanded and oiled. Includes Colt factory letter. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its finish with some light wear. No signs of cleaning or polishing. Grips have been sanded and are ill fitting around the edges. Bore is clean overall with very good overall rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Gun is mechanically fine with all clicks heard and felt. CALIBER: .45 Colt. FFL STATUS: Antique. S/N: 106084.
