Description
This is an antique sterling silver first prize double handle trophy cup awarded during the Hudson-Fulton Celebration held on October 9, 1909. The celebration commemorated the 300th anniversary of the discovery of the Hudson River and the 100th anniversary of Robert Fulton's invention of the steamboat. Cities and towns along the Hudson River participated in the celebration. The cup was engraved for: Alice H and Geo S Haswell.
The cup was made by the Meriden Britannia Company of Connecticut.
11 1/2" tall x 11" across the handles. The top and base are 5 3/4 and 4 5/8" respectively. It weighs 25.45ozt.
