DESCRIPTION: Philadelphia Federal eight-day tall case or grandfather clock made by Isaac Reed (working 1819-1846 in Frankford area of Philadelphia). The walnut case in a transitional style with high bracket feet and a shaped skirt supporting a simple wooden base. The wide waist with fluted corner chambers tapering in lamb's tongues. The bonnet with floral rosette tipped swans necks and three unusual tapered triangular finials. A lovely painted dial with the maker "Isaac Reed/Frankford" probably painted in Philadelphia. The interior fitted with a fine eight-day brass movement. MEASUREMENT: 17-1/4" wide x 12" deep x 81" high. CONDITION: Wear consistent with age, chips and losses to bonnet. MEG
