Atomic Bomb: The Great Artiste: Bill Barney ( 1923-2016). The Great Artiste was a B-29 assigned to the 393 rd Bomb Squadron , 509 th Composite Group. It was the only aircraft to participate in both the bombing of Hiroshima and bombing of Nagasaki, as the Scientific Instrument B29, dropping Instruments on parachutes the same time the bomb was dropped, the Instruments recorded the sound of the blast, Scientists on board converted the sound to explosive force of the Bomb. Bill Barney was a member of the crew on the Nagasaki Mission.
