Description
This exquisite artifact is an ancient Egyptian scarab measuring approximately 2.0 cm by 1.5 cm by 1.1 cm (0.79 inches by 0.59 inches by 0.43 inches) crafted from a lustrous green gemstone. The undersurface of the scarab features a meticulously carved seal depicting a pharaoh seated, which is indicative of the New Kingdom period, specifically dating to the era of 1550-1077 BC. Scarabs of this nature were often used as personal seals and amulets, believed to hold protective powers and used in trade and official documents. The fine engraving and preservation of the seal suggest it belonged to a person of considerable status.
