Item Details

Description

Imperial Russian M1881 Cossack Shashka Sword Saber by Zlatoust, dated 1900. The blade measures 34 inches long and have some tarnish on the blade but otherwise in very good condition. Overall is 41.5 inches. The blade looks like it has been sharpened before and is solid in the hilt without any wiggling. The sword is very nicely marked with the maker's detail on one side of the ricasso, which is the Zlatoust arms factory (Located in Zlatoust, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia) and the year of manufacture '1900.' On the other side of the ricasso are Russian inspection marks which are the much rarer 'SH' III inspection marks, rather than the more common 'A' marks.
