Description
A pair of antique Chinese Imari-style porcelain serving bowls. Late Qing era, before 1912. White footed dishes with hand-painted cobalt blue, gold, green, and red decor. Floral and geometrical patterns, dragon motif. The lobulated bowl with figurative rim is garnished with a landscape scenery in the center. Both items have a Guangxu seal mark on the bottom. Imari ware is a Western term for a brightly-coloured style of Japanese export porcelain from the Arita region in the 17-18th centuries. The style was so successful that Chinese and European producers began to copy it. Collectible Asian Oriental Tableware And Serveware.
