A Japanese Kano School Folding Screen of Chinese Children
Edo period (1615-1868), six panel folding screen, ink, pigments and gold on paper, decorated with Chinese children painted in jewel hued colors at play in a snowy landscape, groups of boys are playing music, playing with roosters, playing with a toy horse, making giant snowballs, and gathered together in the snow laden hut to the left hand panel warming themselves by the fire, with brocade border, black lacquer frame with metal hardware.
